Husband calling all the shots.
Hi... My husband travels for work. He's only home 3-5 days a month (and that is a good month!) He told me 3 weeks ago over the phone he wants to separate. Once I found out he had an attorney I found one myself. I am a stay at home mother (to a perfect 13 month old) and wife. He is now saying that he wants to be separated and not divorced because it is cheaper. Where we live there is no such thing as a "legal separation", however there is a separation agreement. My husband controls all of the money... He is never home and leaves my daughter and myself with $200 - $300 before he leaves for business and his trips are usually 3-6 weeks long. If he doesn't want to be married to me anymore, i would rather just have a divorce. This has been the hardest situation i've ever had to go through. Any advice would be very appreciated. I'm lost......

independent
I would take this time to become financially independent. Get a part time job, work from home, start earning money. Save every penny so you aren' tied to him financially. Then you can make a decision as to what is best for you and your child.
